a contemporary enterprise's risk profile. Coupled with the
Fusion Framework™ Software Platform, Fusion provides a complete solution for all aspects corporate
risk that is unparalleled in the industry. Risk Program Management requires a rare combination of depth and breadth of skills and experience, embodied in a team and technology that can translate governance, compliance, and business requirements into a program that makes business sense. Fusion's expertise is further refined
into several disciplines:

Business Recovery
Business Recovery, also referred to as "Business Continuity", involves recovery
of all the assets constituting business operations including, but not limited to,
offices, factories, personnel, office systems, and information located with the
business function. Business Recovery must consider plans for a direct hit on the
operation or collateral impact from the myriad sources on which it depends. Fusion's
expertise lies in identifying critical business functions, correlating assets on
which it depends, developing tactical and strategic alternatives, and implementing
solutions that fit the business value of the operation.
IT Recovery
IT Recovery, also referred to as "Disaster Recovery", involves protection and recovery
of IT systems, networks, and digital information that exists under the purview of
the IT department and functions in support of the business. Recovery of IT Systems
is essential given that very little can happen in a company without access to and
use of critical applications and data. Fusion's expertise lies in identifying key
business dependencies related to IT Systems and prioritizing investment to protect
and recovery critical systems in line with their business value.
Security
Physical and Logical Security have moved to the top of list of "must-haves", driven
by heightened levels of threats and regulations designed to make companies pay attention
to and address those threats. The challenge is to be able to deliver access to systems
and information quickly, easily and reliably while prohibiting unauthorized intruders
from penetrating those systems to use them or the information they contain to harm
an enterprise or its constituents. Fusion's expertise is in building a security
program that reflects business needs, aligning the business with IT through effective
policies and putting in place those specific technologies and processes that ensure
the right balance between security and availability of critical business systems.
And, unlike those who take a pure technical approach, Fusion looks at the entire
business process to ensure that policies and procedures exist to protect the business,
not just the technology.
Regulatory Compliance
Compliance is too often a game of "chicken little" where money is wasted through
well-intentioned, but ill-conceived execution. Compliance is a labyrinth of requirements
with significant overlaps amongst regulations, as well as across sound business
operating procedures and generally accepted auditing and testing procedures. The
key to effective, efficient, and economical compliance is to run a "compliant business"
where compliance requirements are imbedded in the operating plan and necessary compliance
becomes a by-product of execution. Fusion holds the key to transforming your program
from a "respond-react" model to a much more effective, pro-active Risk Management/Compliance
Program.
Crisis Management
No matter how much is invested in risk protection and mitigation, the chances are
good that at some point in time a crisis will occur and have to be managed. How
a crisis is handled directly affects how the enterprise emerges from it in terms
of business impact. Two events handled equally well from a technical perspective,
but very differently from a crisis management perspective can have a dramatically
different tactical and strategic impact on business operations. Fusion's expertise
in crisis management takes an enterprise perspective to develop a plan that includes
both what needs to be done and, as importantly, what should not be done. This crisis
management plan ensures the right people are saying and doing the right things at
the right times thus directing all stakeholders on a clearly defined path to restoring
order to the business in the face of chaos.
Pandemic (HR-IP) Planning
Fusion views Pandemic Planning as "IP Planning", the planning for protection of
an enterprise's Intellectual Property (IP) and human resources. While the threat
of a pandemic is real and currently topical, the more lasting consideration is creation
of a business model that will survive the temporary or permanent loss of key personnel
or large groups of personnel. Fusion focuses on strategic business issues related
to where people work. We analyze their relationship with one another and with core
technical systems, and we create plans and architectures to re-connect them in an
orderly manner so business functions can resume quickly and efficiently in the face
of a temporary or permanent loss of human resources. Pandemic Planning has broad
implications with respect to how a business operates and where people are located.
Unlike technology, humans are unique and cannot be easily replaced. And the information
in the minds of its personnel remains the largest single information exposure to
most businesses.
